About The Role

We are recruiting for a Machine Setter on the Night shift within Beeston, Leeds.

Hours of Work: 40 hours, working Monday and Tuesday from 6.00pm until 6.00am and Wednesday and Thursday 10.00pm until 6.00am

Please note: During your training period of up to 12 weeks, you will be required to work the day shift (Monday to Thursday 6.00am – 2.00pm and Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm)

The Machine Setter will set, run, and maintain spring manufacturing machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. They will support daily output targets by completing accurate machine set ups, monitoring quality, and ensuring smooth operation throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow daily production instructions and run the correct required springs.
  • Monitor raw materials and request as required from the department Manager.
  • Monitor quality of products; ensure all quality procedures and checks are adhered to, feed back to the Manager.
  • Changing cloth and wire.
  • Complete Quality checks to agreed tolerances.
  • Monitor machine output.
  • Set the springs/ core units
  • General upkeep of the Coilers/ glue assembler.
  • Frame core units & roll pack.
  • Checking wire and reject wire correctly.
  • Assist engineers with machine issues.
  • Working with the Manager/planner ensure the work is produced to the correct priority end on time.

About You

Skills & Experience required:

  • Experience in a machine setting or machine operating role within manufacturing. Understanding of mechanical adjustments, tooling changes, and basic fault finding.
  • Ability to follow production instructions and quality standards accurately.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high Quality work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues, engineers, and managers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target driven environment.
