About The Role

We are seeking a Team Leader on the Day shift within the Mattress Department based at our manufacturing site in Beeston, Leeds.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations with the mattress department, ensuring quality, safety and productivity targets are met as well as supervising production operatives.

Hours:   Monday to Thursday, 6am – 4pm (39 hours)

Location: Beeston, Leeds. LS11 5SB

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily production to meet output targets, maintaining accurate records and monitoring progress.
  • Minimise downtime by resolving issues quickly and ensuring stoppages are authorised.
  • Maintain stock levels to support uninterrupted production flow.
  • Coordinate workforce and workflow to meet operational demands throughout the shift.
  • Supervise and support operatives, ensuring all activity is logged within PPMS.
  • Work cross‑functionally to resolve operational challenges and maintain smooth production.
  • Drive performance improvement to meet output and quality standards.
  • Coach and develop team members to enhance skills, capability and engagement.
  • Ensure quality compliance across all production stages.
  • Support HR processes including attendance monitoring, timekeeping and return‑to‑work interviews.
  • Champion health & safety, ensuring PPE compliance and supporting risk assessments.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the department.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Analyse production data and prepare daily/weekly reports for management.
